pbFreelance Opportunity: Senior IT Security Engineer /b /ppbLanguages: /b Dutch and/or French (mandatory) and English (mandatory) /ppbAbout the role /b /ppFor one of our clients, we are looking for a bSenior IT Security Engineer /b to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's security solutions. /ppThe consultant will contribute to security-related projects, manage identity and access management systems, configure security tools, and provide expert guidance on authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth and OpenID Connect. /ppThe role also involves strengthening security procedures, improving threat detection capabilities, and supporting employee awareness and training initiatives. The assignment follows a hybrid working model based in Brussels. /ppbKey responsibilities /b /pulliAnalyze and define security requirements for systems, applications, and services. /liliConfigure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize security tools and infrastructure. /liliManage identity components, user accounts, and provisioning processes. /liliImplement and maintain access management solutions to ensure secure authentication and authorization. /liliMonitor security systems and improve observability to support threat detection and incident response. /liliProtect systems against unauthorized access and security breaches. /liliDevelop security procedures and recommend improvements to security policies. /liliProvide expert technical advice on authentication protocols, particularly OAuth and OpenID Connect. /liliAdvise technical teams, management, and other stakeholders on security best practices and risk mitigation. /liliPromote security awareness and support employee training initiatives. /liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security improvements. /li /ulpbRequired profile /b /pulliExperience with Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), Rational Unified Process (RUP), and Agile methodologies. /liliStrong knowledge of authentication protocols and identity providers, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, OpenLDAP, and Active Directory. /liliSolid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and solutions. /liliKnowledge of application firewalls and web services security. /liliPractical scripting experience in Linux and/or Windows environments. /liliExperience administering, troubleshooting, and continuously improving security solutions. /liliNetwork security experience is an advantage. /liliFluency in Dutch and/or French, with a good command of the other language. /liliStrong command of English. /liliExcellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical security matters to different audiences. /liliA proactive mindset, with a strong focus on operational reliability, risk management, and continuous improvement. /li /ulpbNice to have /b /pulliKnowledge of web services in Auth0. /liliExperience with Okta identity management solutions. /liliFamiliarity with SailPoint identity governance. /li /ul
