Automotive Strategic Buyer

As a Buyer within a leading international automotive company, you will play a key role in the development of current and future vehicle programs. Working within the Purchasing team, you will manage a portfolio of suppliers and contribute to strategic sourcing decisions in a highly international environment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead purchasing activities for vehicle components and/or raw materials, from sourcing and RFQs through to supplier selection and commercial follow-up.
• Manage and develop supplier relationships across Europe, acting as a key commercial interface between the company and its partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations to achieve the best overall value while driving cost optimisation and competitiveness.
• Manage all commercial topics related to your portfolio, ensuring effective follow-up and resolution of potential issues.
• Analyse supplier offers, cost structures and market developments to support fact-based purchasing decisions.
• Recommend supplier selections and purchasing strategies to senior management based on your analysis and market knowledge.
• Monitor technological and market trends within the automotive industry and assess their potential impact on your portfolio.
• Develop commodity strategies at regional level in close collaboration with global purchasing teams and contribute to international purchasing initiatives.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, logistics and other internal stakeholders throughout the vehicle development and production lifecycle.
• Present your recommendations and negotiate with stakeholders in an international, multicultural environment.
• Be willing to travel up to 20% within Europe depending on project and supplier requirements.

Your Profile:

We are looking for a strategic, analytical and commercially minded Buyer who is motivated by the automotive industry and enjoys working in an international environment.

You:

• Hold a university degree or higher education in Purchasing, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Have a strong interest in automotive products, technologies and industry trends.
• Have experience or a strong interest in purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management and/or commercial negotiations.
• Are results-oriented and analytical, with the ability to break down complex topics and identify practical solutions.
• Have strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Are structured, accurate and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership.
• Are comfortable working independently as well as within multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Have good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Are fluent in English.
• Are willing to travel up to 20% within Europe. xlxgzvr
