ppWe are convinced that outside is exciting, relaxing, and inspiring. It's versatile, for some it is a place to relax, for others it is the ultimate challenge. A place to enjoy and where big and small moments come together. It's a place to be discovered or recognized. But the outdoors can also be treacherous and unpredictable. Weather and terrain can surprise you. Our mission is to enable all people to spend inspiring and epic moments outside. /p pYonderland is a European group of premium brands and retail concepts focused on outdoors. Including A.
S. Adventure, Juttu, Bever, Cotswold, Snow+Rock, Runnersneed and Ayacucho. Yonderland runs over 190 shops in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Great-Britain and The Netherlands and resides in Belgium. /p pYonderland runs its data platform on AWS, with Snowflake, dbt and Airflow above it and a large operational database estate underneath. As our Data Solutions Architect, you will lead the design of all of it, acting as the technical reference for the data function on architecture, cloud and automation. Your work will run from the design of new implementations and integration patterns between systems, through how data is processed at volume, to how the platforms themselves are built, deployed and automated
- with security, compliance and data quality built into every design. This is a hands-on role: architecture ownership paired with real engineering work, and current coding experience is required. You report to the Head of Data AI. /p h3You will /h3 ul liOwn the architecture of the data platform, its integrations and its processing layers, from ingestion through to consumption. /li liDefine how data solutions are designed, built, deployed and automated, and apply that standard across the data function. /li liArchitect for high-volume, parallel and real-time processing for the workloads that need it. /li liDecide how data moves between operational and analytical systems, using event-based and contract-driven integration patterns. /li liOwn cloud architecture and infrastructure-as-code practice for everything the data function runs. /li liAnalyze requirements, test the assumptions behind them, and produce the end-to-end design before development starts. /li liAct as design authority, making the key architectural calls, documenting them, and answering the technical questions engineering teams bring. /li liProduce artefacts teams can build from
- solution designs, trade-off analyses, data-flow diagrams, integration blueprints and risk assessments. /li liDesign distributed processing
- partitioning, state handling and performance
- for workloads that outgrow single-node and pure-SQL approaches. /li liDefine the integration patterns
- APIs, events, streaming and change data capture
- and the contracts that keep them stable. /li liOwn cloud architecture on AWS, deciding how data services are structured, scaled, operated and costed. /li liAutomate the platform using Terraform for infrastructure and CI/CD for delivery, with defined deployment and rollback procedures. /li liDesign specialized AI and integration use cases, including AI-assisted workflows and real-time decisioning, and judge where they apply. /li /ul h3You have /h3 ul liSenior experience architecting data platforms that run at high volume in production. /li liA track record of defining standards that other engineers went on to adopt. /li liA hands-on engineering background, with coding experience that is current. /li liDeep, hands-on architecture and operating experience on AWS (equivalent depth on Azure or GCP considered). /li liProduction-level Python. /li liExperience with a high-volume parallel processing engine such as Spark or Flink, including partitioning, state handling and performance tuning. /li liTerraform experience is required, since infrastructure across the data function is managed as code. /li liIntegration architecture experience
- APIs, events, streaming, contracts and change data capture between operational and analytical systems. /li liExperience with a modern data platform stack: a cloud warehouse such as Snowflake, a transformation tool such as dbt, an orchestrator such as Airflow, plus strong SQL and data modelling. /li liAbility to build security, governance and data quality requirements into architecture at design time. /li /ul h3What's in it for you? /h3 ul liA versatile position with pronounced responsibility and variety in a strongly growing and innovative market leader, operating internationally with headquarters in Hoboken (Antwerp) and offices in the Netherlands and the UK. /li liThe IT organisation is a driving force to support the strong growth and you will help shape it. /li liAn open corporate culture where you can be yourself. /li liA competitive gross monthly salary in proportion to your experience, including the possibility of a company car, supplemented by fringe benefits such as meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, additional holidays, and staff discount. /l
