Data Analyst – Banking / Financial Services
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst for a long-term assignment within a major organisation in the Financial Services sector in Brussels.
The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will perform in-depth data analysis and reporting to support the monitoring and improvement of financial and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs from Marketing, Distribution, Risk and Finance into clear data requirements.
- Analyse multiple data sources, including customer, product, profitability, risk, digital behaviour, CRM and sales data.
- Transform complex datasets into clear and actionable business insights.
- Deliver accurate reports, dashboards and data visualisations supporting business decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to develop and maintain the underlying data structures required for analysis and reporting.
- Work with SQL, SAS and Python for data analysis and preparation.
- Develop dashboards and visualisations using Qlik Sense.
- Collaborate with Data Governance teams on data concepts, ownership, stewardship and quality.
- Contribute to Data Quality controls and the harmonisation of business and data definitions.
Your Profile
- Relevant experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into business insights.
- Experience with Business Objects.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, with experience in SAS and/or Python.
- Experience with Qlik Sense or similar dashboarding and visualisation tools.
- Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality principles.
- Strong business orientation and interest in financial, customer and marketing data.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- STEM, Economics or Business degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Dutch/French bilingualism with a good command of English is a strong asset.
