My client is looking for an Opto-electronics Design Engineer to join them at their R&D team in Ghent, Belgium, to lead the application of their integrated photonics platform to high-speed optical circuit switching.
Key
Experience:
Learn market demands in OCS space Interface with business development to translate market needs into technical requirements Innovate and propose new optical circuit switches and switch architectures, and the control circuits that support them, to address current bottlenecks in high-speed switching. Develop a system-level understanding of fast optical switching, including switching speed, insertion loss, crosstalk, and scalability trade-offs. Design and analyze control-loop strategies for fast, stable switching, including bias control and calibration schemes. Design the PIC in HISP technology required for switching demonstrators. Design and specify the surrounding high-speed control electronics for driving and stabilising the switch. Build prototypes and demonstrators, validate their performance, and present results to internal teams and external partners. Document designs, results, and performance trends, and feed insights back into platform development. If you have proficiency with waveguide simulation, and silicon photonics then apply with the link below.
