Life Actuary | Insurance Company in Brussels For one of our clients, we are currently looking for a Life Actuary to strengthen its actuarial team in Brussels. Life Actuary | The company: Our client is a leading international insurance company with a strong presence in the Belgian market, offering a broad range of Life insurance, pension and protection solutions to individuals and businesses. To further strengthen its actuarial expertise, the company is looking for a quantitatively minded actuary who wants to work at the intersection of Life insurance, Asset & Liability Management, financial risk and actuarial modelling. This position offers the opportunity to work directly within an insurance environment and gain exposure to the financial dynamics of Life portfolios, long-term liabilities, market movements and risk management, while contributing to increasingly data-driven and quantitative actuarial approaches. Life Actuary | The role: As a Life Actuary Analyst, you will contribute to the analysis, modelling and monitoring of the company's Life insurance portfolio and long-term liabilities. Your role will have a strong quantitative and risk-oriented dimension. You will analyze how liabilities evolve under different economic and financial scenarios and assess their interaction with the company's assets. You will contribute to ALM analyses, financial risk assessments, actuarial projections and scenario modelling, while using tools such as Python to improve models, automate analyses and extract meaningful insights from actuarial and financial data. Your Responsibilities Life Actuarial Analysis & Modelling
- Perform actuarial analyses and projections related to Life insurance products and liabilities.
- Develop, maintain and challenge actuarial models, methodologies and assumptions.
- Analyze portfolio evolution and long-term financial commitments.
- Perform scenario analyses, sensitivity testing and actuarial simulations.
- Interpret quantitative results and translate them into relevant insights for the business. Asset & Liability Management
- Contribute to Asset & Liability Management analyses across the Life portfolio.
- Analyze the interaction between assets and insurance liabilities under different economic scenarios.
- Assess exposure to interest-rate risk, market risk and other financial risks.
- Perform cash-flow projections, duration analyses and sensitivity assessments.
- Support strategic discussions around the management of assets, liabilities and financial risks. Risk & Business Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues across Actuarial, Risk, Finance, Investments and other relevant departments.
- Provide actuarial and quantitative insights to support financial and risk-related decision-making.
- Translate complex analyses into clear conclusions for different stakeholders.
- Contribute to transversal projects related to Life insurance, ALM and financial risk.
- Participate in the continuous development of actuarial methodologies and internal best practices. Life Actuary |

Your profile
- You hold a Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering or another quantitative field.
- You have relevant experience within Life insurance, actuarial analysis, ALM, financial risk or quantitative modelling.
- You have a solid understanding of Belgian Life insurance products and long-term insurance liabilities.
- You have experience or a strong interest in Asset & Liability Management and financial risk management.
- You are comfortable working with quantitative models, financial scenarios and large datasets.
- You have good programming skills in Python; experience with R, SQL, VBA or other analytical tools is an additional asset.
- You combine strong mathematical and analytical capabilities with a risk-oriented mindset.
- You enjoy challenging assumptions and understanding the financial implications behind actuarial results.
- You are structured, curious and comfortable solving complex quantitative problems.
- You enjoy working collaboratively with professionals across actuarial, risk, finance and investment functions.
