Nowjobs is part of House of HR and a 100% digital staffing platform for students, flexi-job workers, and people looking to earn extra income. Since making our debut in the App Store in 2017, our app has been downloaded more than one million times, over 30.000 companies have already found flexible workers through Nowjobs, and nearly 800.000 people have earned extra income through the app
We're growing fast and internationally too. We're now active in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. In other words: it's high time to expand our amazing team
Help us grow
Our mission. We want to become the largest, 100% digital staffing platform for flexi's and students in the EU. If we succeed, we'll soon all be living in the Bahamas. At least, that's our dream The app does it all but without a rock-solid platform running underneath it, day and night, our mission doesn't stand a chance. That's where you come in.
Ambitious? Yes.
Possible? Definitely. Or almost, because we're still looking for an extra DevOps Engineer.
Nowjobs is looking for a DevOps Engineer
A Nowjobber in a few words? Curious, calm under pressure, and never quite satisfied with “it works, don't touch it.” Sounds like you? Keep reading.
You don't need to master every tool in our stack from day one. What matters most is that you're genuinely comfortable in Linux, the terminal, and Kubernetes, and that you've got the instinct to find out why something broke instead of just restarting it and hoping for the best. Azure and the rest of our toolbox, we're happy to teach you, or build further on what you already bring.
Our platform
You'll be working on the infrastructure that keeps the entire Nowjobs platform running.
Here’s a quick look at the tools you’ll get your hands on:
Orchestration: our infrastructure runs on a modern, cloud-native container platform, hosted in the cloud.
Infrastructure as Code: everything is managed declaratively through code, no manual configuration in cloud consoles.
Packaging: we use industry-standard package management to keep deployments consistent across all environments.
CI/CD: fully automated pipelines take code from build to deploy.
GitOps & delivery: we follow GitOps principles, with automated, git-driven delivery and workflow orchestration.
Observability: a modern monitoring and metrics stack keeps us honest about what's really going on.
By joining our team, you'll get hands-on with a modern, cloud-native platform. No legacy systems holding you back.
Your team
You'll join the DevOps team at Nowjobs, working alongside our team lead and a DevOps Engineer who currently focuses on our Internal Developer Platform as Platform Engineer. Together, you'll keep our Kubernetes infrastructure healthy and give the team more room to grow.
Small team, real impact: what you do here is visible, and your input genuinely shapes how we work.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain and update our Helm charts, and keep an eye on upstream changes.
- Monitor our clusters and workloads, and jump on alerts before they turn into real incidents.
- Manage secrets, certificates, and access safely and on time.
- Spot and fix security issues in our infrastructure, and help harden our setup.
- Own incidents end-to-end: figure out what happened, fix it, write it down, make sure it doesn't happen twice.
- Automate the repetitive stuff, so nobody has to do it by hand twice.
- Lend a hand on GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD, and Argo Workflows whenever the team needs backup.
- Team up with our Platform Engineer on our in-house Internal Developer Portal, helping shape the tools the rest of engineering uses every day.
You won't be designing platform architecture on day one but you will understand it, contribute to it, and gradually make it your own.
What we're looking for
Must-haves
- Solid, hands-on experience with Linux and Bash. You’re comfortable in a terminal and can script your way out of repetitive work.
- The right mindset: curious, calm under pressure, and someone who closes the loop instead of just closing the ticket.
- A solid grasp of networking fundamentals. DNS, load balancers, reverse proxies, web servers and how they all fit together when something’s not connecting.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience. You can troubleshoot nodes, navigate RBAC and networking, and know what to check when a workload misbehaves. Not just deploying apps.
Nice to haves
- ArgoCD / GitOps
- Crossplane, or IaC experience with tools like Terraform
- Argo Workflows, or experience with another workflow orchestrator
- Monitoring tools such as Prometheus & Grafana
- Golang <
