About The Role
To support our Finance organisation in Brussels, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced Accounting Manager. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting operations, ensure strong compliance and governance, and lead a team responsible for the accuracy and reliability of our subledger accounting activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities across general ledger and subledger processes.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany and bank accounting.
- Ensure accurate reconciliations, strong documentation and consistent accounting practices.
- Coordinate statutory accounting, external audits, VAT and corporate tax compliance activities.
- Support treasury activities, including cash position monitoring, cash flow forecasting and banking operations.
- Act as accounting key user for SAP S/4HANA and contribute to process improvement, automation and standardisation initiatives.
- Lead, coach and develop the subledger accounting team, fostering collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
- You bring at least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting or team leadership role.
- You have strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP, IFRS, statutory reporting, internal controls and audit coordination.
- You are familiar with Belgian VAT, corporate tax compliance and related regulatory requirements.
- You have solid experience with SAP S/4HANA and advanced Excel; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- You communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and know how to challenge constructively.
- You are fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an asset.
