PURPOSE

CONMED is seeking a Sales Representative to drive growth of the General Surgery product portfolio in Belgium. This field-based role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle within the assigned territory, developing strategic hospital accounts, supporting product adoption in the operating room, and achieving annual sales objectives while maintaining high customer satisfaction and long-term account growth in line with CONMED's vision and values.

Call points include: General Surgeons, Urologists, Gynecologists, Thoracic Surgeons, Bariatric Surgeons, Procurement and Tender Departments, OR Management, OR Staff, Sterilization Services, Biomedical and Med-Tech Departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES and ROLE

  • Promote and sell CONMED products and services to current and potential customers, managing the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing, with a clear focus on monthly activity, pipeline quality and annual territory sales objectives. Pricing deviations from list price require management pre-approval.
  • Prepare and execute a territory business plan, updated monthly and agreed with your manager, including account segmentation, priority hospitals, product focus, pipeline actions, tender opportunities and competitive conversion targets.
  • Organize time management to maximize customer target audience by way of appointments. Assemble action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
  • Ability to translate clinical benefits into clear customer value, supported by product knowledge, evidence-based messaging and compliant commercial proposals.
  • Strong ownership of territory performance, including forecasting accuracy, pipeline progression, account penetration, competitive conversions and new business generation.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, combining field visits, remote customer follow-up, digital communication and internal collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate CRM discipline by recording customer interactions, opportunities, pipeline status, next steps, trials, evaluations, competitor information and forecast updates in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Prepare business proposals, value-based pricing quotes, tender input and customer presentations required to support product adoption or close sales. Work closely and in a timely

manner with office administration, customer service, marketing and management where requested.

  • Organize and manage a portfolio of carry-in sample products and collateral to support the call program, trials, and meetings.
  • Coordinate product trials, evaluations and in-service training with customers, ensuring clear objectives, documented outcomes, follow-up actions and conversion plans.
  • Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders, surgeons, OR stakeholders and hospital decision-makers to support clinical education, product differentiation and sustainable account growth.
  • Use digital tools, Microsoft 365, CRM, analytics and available AI-supported productivity tools responsibly to improve territory planning, customer preparation, reporting quality and follow-up execution.
  • Learn anatomical structures, acronyms, clinical and surgical procedures to appropriately support and demonstrate products.
  • Communicate regularly with your manager and utilize his/her experience to strengthen your business acumen. Respond/acknowledge communications received within 24 hours.
  • Engage with team to share in market developments, success stories and shortfalls to foster positive spirit and team building between peers, manager and marketplace.
  • Take initiative by recommending new ideas, conducting market intelligence, gathering business opportunities, and including them in the monthly report or sharing them with the team by email if they are important to business practice.
  • Understand and conform to company rules and policies, including business conduct, corporate ethics, quality system compliance, and regulatory affairs requirements.
