Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Access, the Director of University International Enrollment is the University’s primary international recruitment expert and strategist and participates broadly in internationally focused initiatives across the University. The Director will co-create the vision and lead the continued development of the University of Delaware’s international presence in a coordinated and strategic manner that will increase the reputation and market visibility of UD and drive desired enrollment outcomes. /ph3Major
Responsibilities:
/h3ulliLead the university-wide goals for international enrollment. /liliDevelop and lead strategic international recruitment plan for international enrollment and ensure its implementation university-wide. /liliOversee sponsored student recruitment and liaison with sponsoring organizations. /liliWork in close alignment with Center for Global Programs and Services (CGPS) to support the University’s global strategy. /liliLead, mentor, and support the international recruitment staff for graduate and undergraduate admissions, the English Language Institute, as well as faculty and staff recruiting for specific programs with international partners. /liliLead the development of strategies to identify regions, institutions of higher education and other organizations where successful partnerships can be developed in keeping with University of Delaware’s mission and priorities. /liliDevelop recommendations and oversee adherence to approved policy guidelines for establishing international affiliations, programs and partnerships. /liliAdvise deans, directors, staff and faculty on marketplace issues affecting international recruitment and enrollment. /liliServe as a consultant to campus and the wider community on international recruitment activities and resources. Raise the University’s profile as a leader in innovative international programming. /liliExpand partnerships with non-US institutions of higher education and other organizations. Individually and in conjunction with the work of other units, create a steady flow of high-quality international enrollment at a variety of levels (Undergraduate, Graduate, ELI, 2+2, 4+1, etc.). /liliCultivate relationships and agreements with strategically chosen community college partners in the US. Generate a reliable pipeline of incoming transfer international students. /liliManage and support existing relationships and partnerships in collaboration with the Colleges and other units. /liliWork closely with Alumni Relations to foster relationships and expand support for recruitment efforts among international alumni. /liliDevelop, coordinate and maintain an inventory of international resources for the university through which maximum international representation of the University and collaborative programs can be developed and extended. Examples may include databases of international grants, research and exchange opportunities; databases of University faculty and others engaged in international activities. /liliOversee administrative processes; develop and manage program budgets and program staff. /liliServe as primary contact and reviewer for enrollment and recruitment related contracts – at undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree levels, including ELI. /liliPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. /li /ulh3Qualifications: /h3ulliBachelor’s degree with six years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. /liliExperience at a leadership level in international education preferred. /liliStrong skills in communication and organization. /liliAbility to work effectively in collaborative settings with an international community of individuals from a variety of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. /liliDemonstrated ethical values and professional and personal integrity /liliExperience developing and implementing international recruitment strategies. /liliDemonstrated ability to engage successfully in collaboration with international institutions and other international organizations /liliUnderstanding of the laws, regulations and accreditation expectations that govern higher education outside the US /liliProgressively responsible professional/administrative experience in planning, budget, supervision and program development /liliAbility to travel outside the US for purposes of student recruitment, partnership development and maintenance and assurance of program quality /liliCreative skills necessary to market and promote international programs internally a
