Antwerp Convention Bureau highlights the diverse range of conference facilities in Antwerp and builds strong local expertise to support conference organizers and attendees in hosting conferences and business activities within the city.
The goal is to use a comprehensive marketing strategy and a proactive approach to attract international B-2-B events for associations or the industry that generate a positive impact on the residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors of the city of Antwerp.
These events reinforce local and regional policies because they are linked to strong economic clusters, knowledge institutions, or centers of expertise.
In order to expand its organization and network, Antwerp Convention Bureau is actively seeking a new Managing Director.
Functieomschrijving As Managing Director, you are the driving force behind thebr/br/long-term strategybr/br/and financial performance of the organisation.
Taking fullbr/br/PL responsibilitybr/br/, you safeguard the financial health and ensure a maximum return on investment for the allocated budgets.
You build on the current momentum by prioritizing thebr/br/structuring of the organisationbr/br/, implementing clear processes, and inspiring the internal team.
Furthermore, you act as the primary local and internationalbr/br/ambassadorbr/br/who proudly carries the bureau's successes to the city and its stakeholders, further shaping its vision within thebr/br/meeting and convention (MICE) industrybr/br/.
As Managing Director, you will be responsible for: Managing human and financial resourcesbr/br/efficiently within the allocated budgets while meeting the city's KPI’s.
Coaching, motivating, and guiding the teambr/br/to perform at their maximum potential, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
Maintaining a strong and proactivebr/br/network of relationshipsbr/br/with the financing government, local stakeholders, and various players within the industry.
Reporting on operations and milestones to the Executive Board.
Representing ACBbr/br/with strong communication /br/Expanding the (inter)national networkbr/br/within the highly competitive meeting industry.
Simultaneously, you showcase local successes and act as thebr/br/public face of the organizationbr/br/fostering the local public relations (PR), translating achievements into pride for the city and local stakeholders.
Leading thebr/br/day-to-day managementbr/br/and further development of the organisation in line with the long-term strategy, ensuring the implementation of clear procedures, best practices, and an optimal organisational structure.
Profiel You are first and foremost anbr/br/organisation builder and a true people managerbr/br/who provides your team with direction, clarity, and structure.
Additionally, you are abr/br/business-minded networkerbr/br/who effortlessly represents the organisation and inspires others during presentations and networking events.
You possess a strategic approach paired with innovative thinking, and you show great diplomatic sensitivity towards the interests of local stakeholders.
Additionally, you possess: A Master’s degree (or equivalent working and thinking level), coupled with substantial experience inbr/br/setting up, structuring, and leading a solid organisationbr/br/at abr/br/senior management levelbr/br/.
Strong PR skills and a proven track record of localbr/br/stakeholder managementbr/br/, successfully communicating results to government, partners, ambassadors, the team and other stakeholders.
Abr/br/backgroundbr/br/in the (inter)national hospitality industry, or experience as a senior business marketing and sales professional within abr/br/highly competitive international sectorbr/br/.
Experience within the MICE sector is considered a strong asset, though leadership skills are prioritized.
A strict commitment to beingbr/br/based in Antwerpbr/br/alongside a readiness to travel internationally.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
