A major international bank is growing its Brussels credit team and looking for a Junior Credit Analyst to join them. You'll be the independent voice on new corporate lending deals, assessing whether each one makes sense before it goes to the local management committee.
What you'll do
- Review proposed loans from a credit perspective, looking at the borrower, the cash flows, the structure and the key documentation
- Write clear, balanced credit papers with a firm recommendation
- Ask the right questions of the deal teams and set conditions where needed
- Work with Risk, Compliance, Treasury and Operations to keep deals moving
- Monitor the existing loan book and flag early signs of deterioration
What you'll bring
- A degree in finance, economics or a related subject
- 1–3 years' experience in credit analysis, credit risk or corporate lending, ideally in wholesale banking
- Confidence reading financial statements and building a view on cash flow and leverage
- A working knowledge of loan documentation and covenants
- Strong written and spoken English (French or Dutch is a bonus)
- Good organisation, attention to detail and the confidence to challenge
