Discover what your next job at BESIX could look like. /p pLearn more at: /p pThe Legal Counsel will advice on all legal matters for BESIX NV/SA in Belgium and Luxemburg. /p pAs such, the Legal Counsel will support and advice BESIX’ project teams throughout the contracting cycle, from tender review to hand-over and, as the case may be, ensuing disputes. This includes: /p ul lireviewing tender documentation and legal framework; /li lidrafting legal analysis and recommendations on the same; contribute to the internal review processes ahead of bidding; /li lireviewing and drafting all required contractual documentation in the bidding and negotiation phase, vis‑à‑vis the client, partners, sub‑contractors etc.; /li liensure a seamless hand‑over, upon contract award, to the project execution teams and contract managers; /li liliaise with the same throughout the execution/construction phase as well as at hand‑over, and provide assistance where appropriate; /li lifollow up on any claims, in close cooperation with the relevant contract manager; advice on pre‑litigation tactics if necessary. /li /ul pIn addition, as Legal Counsel, you will : /p ul lianalyze and negotiate various contracts and other legal documents covering a variety of topics to safeguard the interests and legal position of BESIX; /li liassist in resolving general legal issues and questions related to daily business activities and address legal inquiries from BESIX’ various departments; /li liconduct litigation (judiciary and arbitral proceedings); /li limanage external counsel on these matters; /li liparticipate in monitoring legal compliance, staying informed about new regulations, analyzing their impact on operational activities, and ensuring their implementation. /li /ul pIn this role you will report to the General Counsel. /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liUniversity degree in law, with a strong academic track record; any additional degree is a plus; /li libAt least 10years of relevant and demonstrated experience /b in construction and/or project development (and ensuing disputes), either in a major law firm or within a construction company; /li liKnowledge of and/or interest in project finance, public private partnerships and public procurement; /li liFluent in Dutch and English.
Good working knowledge of French.
