On behalf of MSD Animal Health, we're looking for an experienced Technical Advisor Poultry (Veterinarian) to support customers across Belgium. In this highly visible role, you'll work alongside veterinarians, hatcheries, poultry companies and farmers to improve flock health, optimize production performance and contribute to a more sustainable poultry industry.

Your role & Responsibilities - Technical Advisor Poultry (Veterinarian)

Your role
Reporting to the Veterinary Services Lead, you will act as the trusted technical partner for poultry veterinarians, hatcheries, rearing companies and poultry producers across Belgium.

Your expertise will help customers tackle complex respiratory and intestinal diseases, improve farm management, strengthen immunity programs and support food safety initiatives. By combining scientific knowledge with practical field experience, you'll translate complex challenges into effective, customer‑focused solutions.

Working closely with the Commercial Poultry Team, you will also contribute to the development of innovative services, technical tools and data‑driven solutions that create value throughout the poultry production chain.

Your responsibilities
In this position, you'll combine scientific expertise with commercial insight while building long‑term partnerships across the Belgian poultry industry. Your responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for poultry veterinarians, hatcheries, rearing companies and poultry producers throughout Belgium.
  • Provide expert technical support on complex respiratory, intestinal and other poultry health challenges.
  • Build long‑term partnerships with strategic customers by understanding their business objectives and helping them achieve sustainable improvements.
  • Lead and support technical projects that align customer needs with MSD Animal Health's strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to develop customer‑focused technical solutions and identify new business opportunities.
  • Support product launches, customer meetings, scientific presentations and technical discussions.
  • Analyze field data and pathogen‑specific diagnostics to monitor flock health and recommend appropriate preventive strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of technical services, audit tools and automated data processing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance requirements and applicable Benelux regulations.
  • Maintain accurate customer information within the CRM system.
  • Deliver technical training sessions for colleagues, veterinarians and other stakeholders within the poultry industry.
  • Initiate, coordinate or support local research projects and scientific studies where appropriate.
  • Prepare scientific publications for industry media and maintain relationships with national and international poultry experts and professional associations.

Your profile for this role as a Technical Advisor Poultry (Veterinarian)

You are a veterinarian who combines scientific expertise with strong interpersonal skills. You enjoy working independently, building lasting customer relationships and translating complex scientific information into practical advice.

In addition, you bring:

  • A University degree in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Preferably a PhD or relevant postgraduate specialization in poultry health.
  • Experience in poultry veterinary practice, technical veterinary services or a scientific research environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • The ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
