You’ll be building a central data platform that brings together data sources and ensures consistent, scalable, and reliable reporting. As Data & Analytics Lead, you’ll take the lead in this effort. You’ll help shape the architecture, actively contribute to building the platform and the integrated data model, and consolidate data from various systems into a single, reliable source of truth. This isn’t a role where you sit on the sidelines. Technical leadership goes hand in hand with a distinctly hands-on approach: providing guidance where needed and building things yourself where it makes the biggest difference.

Your Role as Data & Analytics Lead

Design, build, and manage the central data platform using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks, based on a scalable medallion architecture with bronze, silver, and gold tiers

Developing data pipelines, notebooks, and transformations using SQL, Spark SQL, and Python/PySpark, with a focus on data quality, monitoring, performance, and cost-efficiency

Development of a single integrated dimensional data model with facts and shared dimensions, supplemented by a central Power BI semantic model, DAX, and access control

Consolidating and making data accessible from sources such as Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics 365 Sales/Customer Engagement, Synergy, Resource Manager, and external applications

Migrate existing reporting models to the new central platform and develop a reusable approach to efficiently integrate new data sources and acquired entities

Translating reporting needs from Finance, Sales, Delivery, and HR into reliable, consistent, and reusable data solutions

Establish and enforce standards for modeling, documentation, version control, and CI/CD, and ensure the quality and consistency of the delivered solutions

Provide guidance and coaching to BI developers, external partners, and key users, and help determine priorities regarding reporting requests

What are you bringing?

At least 4 years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, BI Consultant, or in a similar role

Experience setting up a data warehouse or lakehouse on Azure and a thorough understanding of dimensional modeling, such as the Kimball model

Strong knowledge of SQL and Spark SQL and the ability to work proficiently with Python/PySpark

Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks, including notebooks and Delta Lake

Strong knowledge of Power BI, data modeling, and DAX

A distinctly hands-on mindset and a desire not only to make architectural and technical decisions but also to build and implement solutions yourself

The ability to translate technical issues into solutions that are understandable and practical for the business, preferably based on knowledge of operational and financial business processes

Fluency in Dutch and English, supplemented by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, economics, or a scientific field, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through relevant experience
