A multinational defence organisation near Brussels needs a senior solution engineer to own thearchitecture of complex deployable systems, where power, wireless and satellite links all have tofit together. You would set the standards other projects build to.
What you would be doingLeading architecture for complex solutions and keeping it true to the agreed requirementsSetting the principles for choosing architecture components and explaining trade-offs to stakeholdersKeeping one stable target architecture across several projects at onceRunning scoping and requirements work on large initiatives, including baselines and change controlMaking security and privacy part of systems development from the startProducing or approving network designs: topology, capacity, interfaces, security and accessAssessing network risk and defining recovery and contingency proceduresWhat you would bringA Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's and 8 yearsExperience leading teams of technical staffKnowledge of deployable, dispersible and highly mobile CIS technologyDesign and integration experience with AC power distribution, emergency generators and UPSA good understanding of wireless technology, including SATCOMArchitecture modelling (UML, SysML or ArchiMate), ideally within NAFv4, TOGAF or DODAF and MBSEHands-on experience fielding, testing and maintaining modern communications equipmentITIL Foundation and PRINCE2 Foundation or PMPA plus: Federated Mission Networking, PRINCE2 Practitioner, ArchiMate or TOGAF certificationWhy this one is worth a lookReal technical authority: the architecture you set is the one the field teams rely on.
