The QHSE Manager is responsible for leading, promoting, and continuously enhancing the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) management system, culture and performance. The role ensures that robust QHSE objectives and KPIs of business are developed, implemented, and monitored in alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.

The QHSE Manager advises the MEDREPAIR entity's senior management, providing guidance on QHSE medium & long-term development plans that support both operations and sustainable growth in a continuous business evolution context.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance, governance & standards

  • Maintain and improve the MEDREPAIR Entity Quality management system, according to ISO 9001 certification.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable QHSE regulations, company policies, and internal procedures across all sites and activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to operations within the country
  • Maintain active relationships with HSE regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting as required.

QHSE Culture, Training & Engagement

  • Strengthen QHSE awareness and safety culture throughout the organization via training for example, fostering consistent application of safe work practices in pursuit of zero work-related injury culture
  • Coordinate local Health and Safety Committee (CPBW)
  • Facilitate toolbox meetings to reinforce safety values and practices across operations

Risk Management, Inspections & audits

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct periodic internal inspections and audits across all locations under the scope of responsibility to verify adherence to QHSE standards
  • Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective / mitigation actions to minimize risk and improve operational performance.

Reporting, performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and communicate periodic QHSE reports, including monthly QHSE performance reports to headquarters.
  • Develop, track, and review QHSE plans, programs, and KPI's to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and support initiatives aimed at elevating overall QHSE performance for the company.

Strategic & Ad-Hoc Responsibilities

  • Support management with QHSE related assignments aligned with strategic priorities and business needs.

Key Experience & Qualifications

Education & Professional Credentials

  • Master's Degree in Logistic/Transportation, Quality, Environment, Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
  • Certified Level 1 Prevention Advisor (Belgium)
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

HSE Expertise & Industry Background

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in an QHSE role within Logistics industry (or similar operational context)
  • Strong understanding of the transport and logistic industry, with the ability to work effectively with shipping companies and related industry stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of local occupational health & safety legal legislation, as well as Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies

Incident Management & Operational Capabilities

  • Proven experience in handling QHSE related incidents end-to-end, including reporting, investigation, follow-through, insurance claims, corrective action plans. etc
  • Demonstrated ability to implement operational controls and improve performance in dynamic environments

Analytical, Communication & interpersonal skills
