pOne engineer who sees the whole system, while the specialists each see their part. /p pA multinational defence organisation near Brussels needs a senior solution engineer to turn operational needs into deployable communication and IT systems, and to stay the technical owner of those systems once they are in service. /p h3What You Would Be Doing /h3 ul liTranslating operational and project requirements into a solution and a system architecture /li liRunning trade-off analyses across performance, security, resilience, cost and schedule /li liApplying model-based systems engineering and reusing approved building blocks wherever possible /li liActing as technical product owner for systems already in operation: changes, obsolescence, roadmap /li liIntegrating work from networks, satellite and radio, cloud, storage, security and identity specialists /li liBeing the main technical focal point for your projects and turning issues into clear engineering tasks /li /ul h3What you would bring /h3 ul liA degree in systems, telecommunications, computer or electronic engineering, computer science or similar /li liAbout ten years in engineering complex ICT, defence, aerospace or telecoms systems /li liExperience as a technical lead, lead systems engineer or solution architect /li liStrong requirements engineering, interfaces, traceability and system integration /li liBroad knowledge across networking, infrastructure, security, cloud and communications /li liExperience looking after complex systems once they are live: configuration, change and lifecycle /li liProfessional English for writing and reviewing technical documentation /li /ul h3Why this one is worth a look /h3 pReal design authority over systems that have to work in the field, not just on paper. /p
