GTS Space is working with a company who are a leading electronics design and manufacturing specialist operating across space, imaging, industrial vision, medical and transport sectors. They design and deliver high-reliability hardware and software solutions used in demanding, mission-critical environments.
This hire forms part of a planned succession, with the current Service Manager of Operations transitioning into partial retirement following a structured handover. The company is recruiting ahead of time to ensure continuity, knowledge transfer and long-term operational stability.
The roleYou will take ownership of Supply Chain, Procurement and Quality across the business, ensuring product availability, cost efficiency and strong operational performance across electronics and EMS activities.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic sourcing, operational execution and people management within a high-mix, low-volume environment.

Key responsibilities
Procurement & Supply ChainDefine and execute sourcing and procurement strategies, including category strategies, supplier negotiations and dual-sourcingManage supply risk, including obsolescence and EOL planning, with a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindsetMonitor and improve supplier performance across quality, compliance and deliveryInventory & Operational PerformanceManage and optimise inventory and stock levels to ensure on-time product availabilityProtect operational performance through clear KPIs and structured performance reviewsLeadership & Continuous ImprovementLead and develop a multi-disciplinary team covering buyers, operations, incoming inspection, PCB testing and repair, logistics and quality engineeringDrive KPI improvement and embed a culture of continuous improvementQuality, ERP & FacilitiesMaintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemSupport the transition to a new ERP systemCoordinate Facility Management activities in collaboration with HR and senior leadershipWhat we’re looking for8–10 years’ experience within electronics or EMS, ideally in a high-mix, low-volume environmentMinimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing or ProcurementStrong inventory management experienceDeep understanding of ISO 9001, including CAPA, 8D and control plansFamiliarity with IPC-A-610Proven strategic and hands-on xdkqlui procurement experience across electronics and mechanical componentsSupplier development and audit experienceStrong working knowledge of ERP / MRP systemsPA / QA experience is a strong advantageConfident communicator with a collaborative, cross-functional mindsetProfessional English required; Frenchis a strong advantageWhy applyJoin a technically advanced organisation working on cutting-edge electronics for space and industrial applicationsStep into a succession-planned leadership role with a structured handoverInfluence strategy, systems and teams with real autonomyIf you’re an experienced supply chain and procurement leader looking for a role with technical depth, leadership responsibility and long-term impact, we’d love to hear from you.
