We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions. /p pReporting to the Lead Commercial Counsel, you will support Esko’s customer-facing SaaS and software licensing deals. Working on a global basis, you will also draft, negotiate, manage and oversee a broad range of commercial transactions, including partnership and procurement agreements, NDAs and Data Protection Agreements. As a trusted legal resource, you will provide guidance and training to business leaders and sales and service employees on contract negotiation and topics including AI best practices and regulation, distributor management, competition law, compliance and privacy. This varied in-house role offers autonomy, close collaboration with internal business leaders and the opportunity to negotiate with some of the world’s largest and most recognised companies. /p pThis is a hybrid role based in our Ghent, Belgium office. /p h3In this role, you will be: /h3 ul liGaining a solid understanding of the business, its goals and challenges and identifying appropriate commercial contract strategies to facilitate those goals and minimize challenges on a global basis /li liNegotiating, documenting and approving commercial transactions, contracts and other legal arrangements, with a focus on software licensing, the sale of SaaS Services /li liProviding commercial-related legal advice to the business, aimed at limiting risk. /li liAssisting with mergers acquisitions – from due diligence to documentation and integration planning. /li /ul h3The Essential Requirements Of The Job /h3 ul liLaw degree with 6–8 years’ experience in an international law firm, multinational company, or a combination of both. /li liSignificant experience handling software-related matters, either in SaaS or technical software from the sell-side, including software licensing and hosted services. /li liFluent English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal audiences. /li liStrong collaboration and listening skills, with the ability to provide strategic guidance, prioritise effectively and work independently. /li liWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 20%. /li /ul h3Preferred experience also includes: /h3 ul liIn-house counsel experience. /li liExperience in IT security and data privacy. /li liExperience negotiating with large multinational companies. /li /ul pEsko is proud to part of the Product Quality Innovation segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a $5B global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods.
