Freelance Infrastructure

ppFor a global customer in Brussels, we are looking for a freelance Technical Lead (SME) with a strong background in IT Service Delivery and Workplace Infrastructure to lead the successful delivery of IT projects. This role requires someone who combines operational IT expertise with project delivery experience and can effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. /ppYou will act as the technical subject matter expert throughout project delivery, ensuring solutions are technically sound, risks are identified early, and business stakeholders understand project objectives, progress, and impacts. /ppbThis is not a hands-on engineering role, but rather a technical leadership position focused on delivering workplace and infrastructure initiatives. /b /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliLead the technical delivery of workplace and infrastructure projects from planning through implementation. /liliAct as the technical SME for project teams, providing guidance on infrastructure and end-user computing technologies. /liliIdentify technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges, ensuring mitigation plans are in place. /liliWork closely with engineers to understand technical requirements while translating technical concepts into business-friendly language. /liliPartner with business stakeholders to explain project goals, timelines, priorities, impacts, and any delivery issues. /liliCoordinate project activities across technical teams, vendors, partners, and business users. /liliSupport projects involving technologies such as device lifecycle management, laptop refreshes, mobile device deployments, and workplace transformation initiatives. /liliEnsure projects align with IT Service Management (ITIL) best practices and operational standards. /liliFacilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and communications to ensure engagement and project success. /liliDrive project governance, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and risks are appropriately managed. /li /ulh3Profile /h3ulli3-5 years' experience in an IT Operations, Service Delivery, or Technical Delivery Management role. /liliDemonstrated experience delivering IT infrastructure or workplace technology projects. /liliStrong understanding of IT Service Management (ITIL) principles and operational environments. /liliExperience working alongside infrastructure, workplace, or endpoint engineering teams. /liliGood understanding of modern workplace technologies, including Microsoft Intune and endpoint management. /liliAbility to assess the technical impact of proposed solutions and communicate these clearly to business stakeholders. /liliExperience identifying project risks, dependencies, and technical constraints. /liliExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. /liliExperience with project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or PRINCE2. /liliExposure to Microsoft 365 workplace technologies. /li /ulh3What We're Looking For /h3pThe ideal candidate is someone who understands both the operational and project sides of IT.
