pWe are looking for a Senior SCADA Software Engineer to join a dynamic development team responsible for a business-critical SCADA platform operating 24/7 across Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. /p pThe platform supports the real-time monitoring and control of power-generation assets, the integration of flexible energy resources, and compliance with European grid codes. It also facilitates data exchange with Transmission System Operators and calculates real-time setpoints based on production plans, live acquisition data, FCR, aFRR, and mFRR inputs. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and maintain a highly available SCADA platform based on Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA X SYS600. /li liDesign scalable, robust, and resilient software solutions. /li liApply software architecture, design patterns, and software craftsmanship principles such as SOLID, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI. /li liWrite clean, maintainable, and reliable code for a business-critical industrial environment. /li liInvestigate production incidents, implement rapid operational fixes, and deliver sustainable corrective solutions. /li liContribute to version-control and CI/CD practices using GitHub. /li liCollaborate with developers, analysts, architects, dispatchers, business representatives, and technical teams. /li liWork within an Agile/SAFe environment. /li liContribute proactively to improving the technical environment and development practices. /li liParticipate in the on-call support rotation after onboarding to ensure system availability and grid stability. /li /ul h3Required Profile /h3 ul liMaster's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, electromechanics, or a related discipline. /li liAt least three years of relevant software development experience. /li liStrong software-engineering foundations, including software architecture and design patterns. /li liExperience with version control and CI/CD practices. /li liIndustrial mindset and experience developing stable, resilient, or business-critical applications. /li liBasic understanding of electricity production and power-grid transmission. /li liStrong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities. /li liAbility to respond effectively to critical production incidents. /li liProactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach. /li liStrong ownership and accountability. /li liAbility to learn independently and take initiatives. /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills. /li liAbility to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. /li liTeam-oriented mindset and ability to work within complex project organizations. /li /ul h3Preferred Skills /h3 ul liExperience with Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA X SYS600. /li liKnowledge of SCIL or another SCADA-specific programming language. /li liExperience with SCADA, Industrial Control Systems, or Operational Technology environments. /li liExperience in the energy, utilities, or power-generation sector. /li liKnowledge of real-time energy-balancing mechanisms such as FCR, aFRR, and mFRR. /li liExperience supporting systems operating continuously on a 24/7 basis. /li liFamiliarity with Agile or SAFe. /li liUnderstanding of industrial cybersecurity principles. /li liAwareness of NIS2 requirements. /li liPrevious SCIL expertise is valuable but not mandatory. The selected consultant will complete the "SYS 600 SCIL Programming Basics" training at the beginning of the assignment and receive support from the team during the first months. /li /ul pLocation: Linkebeek, Belgium. /p pHybrid working model with a minimum of three days per week on site. /p pRemote work may be possible for the remaining days, depending on operational requirements. /p pFrequent visits to operational teams in Brussels. /p pOccasional visits to power-generation or industrial sites. /p pExceptional short international business trips may be required. /p pFlexible
