Functional Analyst

As a Functional Analyst within a banking/insurance environment, you will act as the bridge between business and IT, translating business needs and regulatory requirements into clear functional solutions. Working within a multidisciplinary and Agile team, you will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of reliable, secure, and customer-focused applications and processes. Your main activities:
- Act as the link between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring a shared understanding of requirements and solutions.
- Gather, analyse, challenge, and document business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Design functional solutions while considering business needs, technical constraints, data, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Architects, and Business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide functional guidance and clarification during development and testing.
- Contribute to functional testing, defect analysis, and solution validation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, applications, and ways of working. Showcase Your Strengths: Beyond functional analysis expertise, we are looking for a professional who can connect business and IT, structure complex topics, and turn business needs into pragmatic solutions:
- You have 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
- You have experience in a banking, insurance, or broader financial services environment.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You communicate clearly and are comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders.
- You are proactive, pragmatic, solution-oriented, and able to work autonomously.
- You are comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- You have an excellent command of Dutch & English, French is an asset. What will help you to succeed:
- Experience with business process analysis and functional requirements.
- Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and SQL.
- Experience with functional and integration testing.
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools.
- Understanding of regulatory, compliance, security, and data requirements within financial services. The assignment terms
