MS Fabric Data Engineer
CONTRACT/FREELANCE

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of a modern enterprise data platform built on Microsoft Fabric. You'll work alongside architects, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that drive business decision-making.
Our client is investing heavily in its cloud and data capabilities, making this an excellent opportunity to work with some of Microsoft's latest technologies in a highly visible position.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and optimise ELT/ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
- Develop and manage Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environments within Fabric.
- Leverage OneLake as the centralised data repository.
- Create and maintain notebooks using PySpark and Python.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Ensure data quality, performance, governance and security standards are maintained.
- Support the ongoing evolution of the organisation's cloud data strategy.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Expertise across:
- Fabric Data Factory
- OneLake
- Lakehouse
- Data Warehouse
- Dataflows Gen2
- Fabric Notebooks
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience with Python and PySpark.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Services and cloud-based data architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience
- Power BI development and semantic modelling.
- CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Azure certifications.
- Experience working in regulated environments. xlxgzvr
