THE ROLE

In an increasingly complex regulatory environment and financial world, Data Governance represents a financial institution key milestone in the journey towards compliance to BCBS239 principles, RDARR guidelines and local legislation.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance consultant with risk and regulatory reporting knowledge to join our team.

You will be working in a community of risk expert that is focused on linking the diverse world of Data into the risk management frameworks of banks and insurance companies. In this role, you will interface with both Data and Risk Management departments, making the difference by bringing a value-centric approach on implementation and design solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risk calculation and reporting and will be able to tailor fit Data Governance policies and processes meeting the Board as well as regulatory expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participating in or leading engagements of our Risk Advisory practice for our banking and insurance clients to help them develop and streamline Data Governance practices.
  • Ability to make a connection between the RDARR requirements, Data Governance practices, BCBS239 principles and our clients specific organization, by providing tailored solutions or updating policies and procedures.
  • Assisting our clients in setting up Data Quality controls in either their regulatory reporting and/or regulatory/internal risk calculations.
  • Conducting workshops with business users, gathering business requirements, and defining functional and technical requirements.
  • Guiding and supporting required IT testing activities.
  • On the other hand, you could also participate in implementation projects related to risk management solutions or data infrastructure for risk and regulatory reporting.
  • Assisting our clients in the processing and reporting of their risks: credit risk, market risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk etc., from data collection, treatment, risk calculations and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in management, applied economics or computer sciences.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in financial institutions with a strong understanding of banking or insurance business and experiences in Data Governance, Data Quality Frameworks, Internal Controls and RDARR.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS or Python or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with BCBS 239 and its principles for Data governance, Data quality Framework, IT architecture.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a result-oriented environment.
  • Good communication, writing and presentation skills with the ability to explain sophisticated issues in a simple but professional way.
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Understanding of one or more risk calculation (credit risk, market risk, ALM, climate risk, Liquidity risk, ...) and reporting processes (COREP, LCR, NFSR, QRT).
  • Knowledge of European risk regulation (CRR2, CRR3, Basel IV, Solvency 2).
  • First-hand experience with Agile ways of working is a plus.
  • French and/or Dutch (oral and written) is an advantage.
