Associate Director, Biomarker Statistics Lead

I'm working with an innovative biotechnology organisation that is expanding its data science and quantitative development capabilities. They are seeking an experienced Biomarker Statistics Lead to play a key role in shaping biomarker strategies across a growing development portfolio.

This is a strategic role at the intersection of biomarker science, clinical development, and quantitative decision-making. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure biomarker data is effectively leveraged to inform development strategy, strengthen evidence generation, and support critical portfolio decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the statistical strategy for biomarkers across clinical and translational development programmes.
• Develop quantitative approaches that address key scientific, clinical, and development questions.
• Partner with clinical, translational, biomarker, and data science teams to optimise study design and evidence generation strategies.
• Integrate biomarker and clinical datasets to generate programme-level insights and support informed decision-making.
• Provide statistical leadership on biomarker qualification, validation, and regulatory readiness activities.
• Promote best practices in reproducible research, data integrity, and robust analytical methodologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert in governance discussions and cross-functional strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Significant industry experience supporting clinical development programmes within biotech or pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies applied to clinical and biomarker data.
• Experience working with predictive, prognostic, pharmacodynamic, or patient stratification biomarkers.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for scientific and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with R and modern reproducible analysis workflows.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
