LegalOps Project Manager

pbLocation: /b Brussels, Belgiumbr/bEmployment Type: /b Contract /ph3About the role /h3pOur client, an organisation based in Brussels, is looking for an experienced LegalOps Project Manager to join its legal function on a contract basis. The role focuses on improving how the legal team operates, bringing structure, process and delivery discipline to projects that make legal work more efficient, consistent and easier to manage. /ppYou will plan and run legal operations projects from scoping through to delivery, working with lawyers, compliance, IT, finance and other business teams. Typical initiatives include process improvement, workflow design, contract management, matter and spend management, legal technology and reporting. You will define scope, set timelines, manage risks and keep stakeholders informed, so that projects are completed on time and deliver clear value to the legal team. /ppThe role sits between legal expertise and operational delivery. The successful candidate will be comfortable translating legal needs into practical project plans, working with stakeholders at different levels and building a clear picture of progress, costs and outcomes. /ph3Main responsibilities /h3ulliPlan, manage and deliver legal operations projects from initiation to closure /liliDefine project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and resource needs /liliWork with legal and business stakeholders to capture requirements and agree priorities /liliMap and improve legal processes, including workflows, templates and approval routes /liliSupport the selection, implementation and adoption of legal technology and tools /liliManage project risks, issues, dependencies and change, and elevate where needed /liliTrack budgets, resourcing and project performance, and report progress to senior stakeholders /liliCoordinate with external providers, such such as law firms and technology vendors, where required /liliSupport legal reporting and data, including matter, contract and spend information /liliPrepare clear project documentation, communications and training material for the legal team /liliPromote good practice in project governance and continuous improvement across the legal function /li /ulh3Requirements /h3pbEssential /b /pulliProven experience in project management, ideally within a legal, compliance or professional services environment /liliExperience of delivering process improvement or operational change projects /liliUnderstanding of how in-house legal teams and legal workflows operate /liliStrong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills /liliClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with lawyers and non law lawyers /liliConfident reporting on progress, risks and outcomes to senior stakeholders /liliFluent English /liliAble to work in Brussels /li /ulpbDesirable /b /pulliExperience of legal operations or legal technology projects, such as contract lifecycle management or matter management tools /liliA recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, PMP or Agile /liliKnowledge of EU legal or regulatory environments /liliAdditional European language skills /liliPrevious experience of working on a contract basis /li /ulh3The offer /h3ulliContract role as LegalOps Project Manager in Brussels /liliOpportunity to shape how a legal function works day to day /liliWork across legal, technology and business teams /li /ulpThis role suits a project manager who understands how legal teams work and enjoys turning complex processes into something simpler and more reliable. /p
