Work Preparator

In the context of a large-scale, multi-year infrastructure project in and around Antwerp, we are looking for a Work Preparator. As a Work Preparator, you will play a key role in the realization of the Oosterweel Link, a project of unprecedented technical complexity and impact. This is no standard construction project. You will work with innovative execution methods, strict budget controls, and a continuously evolving site environment. You will assess technical feasibility, optimize work methods, and prevent bottlenecks before they occur. In doing so, you ensure the design is seamlessly translated into execution. You interface effectively between design, planning, and execution, working closely with fellow engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders. All of this takes place in an environment where forward-thinking, precision, and technical expertise make the difference. You are responsible for the technical preparation and detailing of execution plans, monitoring the entire process from procurement to completion. Through close collaboration with internal and external parties, you ensure efficient and safe execution within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and detail execution plans for civil and infrastructure works.
• Translate design documentation into practical work instructions.
• Assess technical feasibility and optimize execution methods.
• Identify bottlenecks early and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, site teams, subcontractors, and project management.
• Monitor preparation activities from procurement through completion.

Key Requirements

• Experience as a work preparator, site engineer, technical coordinator, or similar role.
• Strong technical understanding of civil, infrastructure, or industrial construction works.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, planning documents, and technical requirements.
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented way of working.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects is a strong asset.
