h3Function /h3pWe're looking for an experienced Software Engineering Lead to join our client's team and take ownership of the technical direction of a modern web application. Combining hands-on development expertise with strong leadership skills, you'll guide the team in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, and long-term maintainability. You'll work closely with project management and fellow developers to translate complex challenges into effective technical solutions. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDefine and guide the technical direction, application architecture, and overall system design. /li liCollaborate with project management to translate business objectives into robust and scalable technical solutions. /li liEnsure high standards of code quality, performance, security, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle. /li liCoach and mentor developers, facilitate code reviews, and encourage knowledge sharing within the team. /li liEstablish coding standards and promote software engineering best practices. /li liContribute to the development and continuous improvement of a Python-based web application. /li liAnalyse and resolve complex technical challenges in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members. /li liSupport deployment, automation, monitoring, and continuous integration and delivery processes. /li /ul h3Technical Expertise /h3 pThe ideal candidate combines extensive software development experience with a strong understanding of modern application architecture and technical leadership. Key skills include: /p ul liPython development, with strong hands-on experience in Django. /li liFront-end development using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. /li liSQL databases and data-driven application development. /li liData manipulation and processing using pandas. /li liAPI design and integration, including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL. /li liVersion control and collaborative development using Git, GitHub, and GitLab. /li liContainerization and development environments using Docker and Docker Compose. /li liCI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, and software delivery best practices. /li liSoftware architecture and system design, with a focus on scalability, security, performance, and maintainability. /li /ul h3The Ideal Candidate /h3 pYou have a degree in Software Development, IT, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience. You bring a proven track record in Python application development, combined with the ability to lead technical teams and guide developers through challenging engineering decisions. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
