We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Health & Safety Manager (Prevention Advisor Level 3) to join our team in Kortrijk, Belgium.

This is a critical role within our Belgian operation, combining responsibility for workplace health, safety and wellbeing with facilities and fleet management. As the designated Prevention Advisor, you will ensure compliance with Belgian legislation, support a safe and positive working environment, and act as a trusted partner to employees, managers and external stakeholders.


This position requires regular on-site presence, as many responsibilities involve direct interaction with employees, workplace inspections, risk assessments, contractor management and emergency preparedness activities.


What you'll do


Health & Safety leadership


  • Act as the designated Prevention Advisor for the Belgian entity.
  • Ensure compliance with Belgian Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor the Annual Action Plan and Global Prevention Plan.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to Belgian authorities.
  • Organize and support Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPPW) meetings.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for inspections, audits and external prevention services.
  • Monitor legislative developments and ensure ongoing compliance.


Risk management & Workplace safety

  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments.
  • Identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Assess new work environments, equipment and processes from a safety perspective.
  • Review machinery, equipment and hazardous material purchases.
  • Monitor contractor activities and ensure safe working practices on site.
  • Manage corrective actions resulting from audits, inspections and assessments.


Emergency response & Fire safety

  • Coordinate Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and Fire Teams.
  • Organize fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Maintain internal and external emergency plans.
  • Coordinate mandatory inspections of fire protection and building safety systems.
  • Liaise with local fire authorities and emergency services.
  • Ensure safety signage and evacuation procedures remain compliant.

Health & Wellbeing

  • Organize workplace wellbeing initiatives, including annual flu vaccinations.
  • Coordinate First Aid provision and training.
  • Support employee reintegration programmes following long-term absence.
  • Conduct ergonomic and workplace health assessments.
  • Act as the site's Person of Trust, providing confidential support to employees.


Facilities management


  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, maintenance providers and other external suppliers.
  • Coordinate building maintenance, utilities and technical installations.
  • Support HVAC, cooling systems, electrical installations and workplace infrastructure.
  • Manage access control systems, badges and visitor access processes.
  • Support EV charging infrastructure and site services.


Fleet management

  • Manage the Belgian company car fleet.
  • Act as the primary contact for leasing providers.
  • Coordinate vehicle orders, renewals, maintenance and returns.
  • Support employees with vehicle-related queries and administration.


Training & Awareness

  • Maintain Prevention Advisor certification through mandatory annual training.
  • Organize training for First Aid responders, ERT members and Fire Teams. xirbnpk
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, wellbeing and prevention across the site.


What we're looking for


Essential

  • Certified Prevention Advisor Level 3 (Preventieadviseur Niveau 3)
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience in workplace safety, risk management or facilities management
  • Fluent Dutch and English
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Kortrijk


Nice to have

  • Experience in managing facilities and workplace services
  • Experience managing a corporate vehicle fleet
  • Experience acting as a Person of Trust
  • First Aid or emergency response qualifications
