Senior Accountant — Brussels OR Antwerp | Boutique fiduciary | Family businesses | ITAA registered.

You will join a boutique accountancy and tax firm founded in the 90s, with offices in Brussels and Antwerp. There are around seventeen people, and we have chosen to stay that way.

Their clients are family businesses, some substantial, some smaller. They don't chase a portfolio of a thousand files. They take fewer clients, and serve them properly, across accounting, tax, legal, corporate finance and HR at the same time.

Alongside the accountancy practice sits the group (legal, management and social consulting, including corporate finance and M&A).

The role:

As a Senior Accountant, you'll own your own portfolio and run it end to end:

  • Full accounting cycle for a portfolio of Belgian SMEs and family-owned companies, from bookkeeping through to annual accounts under Belgian GAAP
  • VAT returns, intracommunity listings and corporate income tax returns (ISOC/Ven.B)
  • Year-end closing, statutory filings and the NBB deposit
  • Direct client contact — you are their point of reference, not a name on an invoice
  • Review and mentoring of junior colleagues
  • Working alongside our legal, corporate finance and social teams on files that go beyond pure accounting: restructurings, acquisitions, transmissions, estate planning

What they are looking for:

  • Between 5 and 10 years' experience in a Belgian fiduciary, accountancy firm or trust office
  • You've owned files from A to Z, opening entries through to filing, not just one section of a process
  • Strong command of Belgian tax and accounting rules: VAT, corporate income tax, annual accounts, CNC/CBN guidance
  • Fluent in French and/or Dutch, with working English. Any additional language is a genuine asset here
  • Comfortable with digital accounting tools, Winbooks, Horus, Adsolut, Exact, Silverfin, Yuki, BOB50 or equivalent, and with the shift to Peppol e-invoicing
  • ITAA title (expert‑comptable certifié / conseiller fiscal certifié) is welcome but not required
  • Above all, appetite. They hire people who want to build something, not people waiting for instructions

What they offer:

  • A competitive package built around what you actually take home
  • A portfolio you own, with real client responsibility from day one
  • Exposure across four businesses: accountancy, legal, corporate finance and data
  • Genuine progression.
  • Continuous training, including support towards your ITAA title if you want it
  • An annual team trip abroad. Italy and Turkey in recent years; Barcelona next
  • Two offices, Brussels and Antwerp, and flexibility on where you're based

The hiring process:

  1. A conversation about who you are and how you work
  2. A technical assessment built on real cases, not textbook theory
  3. A final meeting with the partners
