A specialist space company based in Belgium is investing in a new product line and is looking for a Systems Engineer / Technical Lead to take the technical reins on the development of a new actuator for a next-generation space application. The business has already secured its first customer for this work and has further opportunities lined up, making this a genuine ground-floor opportunity to shape a new business line from the start.
This is a confidential search being handled exclusively by us on behalf of our client.
The role
- Own the technical direction of a new actuator development programme, from concept through to delivery, working alongside a dedicated project manager who leads on delivery and schedule
- Act as the main technical point of contact for customers, including presenting project progress where required
- Help build out a new engineering team as the business line grows
- Play a leading role in shaping future projects within this new business area as it expands What we're looking for
- Solid systems engineering experience within AOCS or GNC, ideally including full development-cycle experience on actuator hardware such as reaction wheels, CMGs or similar
- Background in attitude control product development is strongly preferred over general satellite bus, platform or electronics experience
- Roughly 3+ years' relevant experience upwards – seniority is flexible and will be matched to the strength of your actuator/AOCS background rather than years alone
- Comfortable operating with a good degree of autonomy on a brand-new programme, and confident building relationships directly with customers
- Willingness to relocate to or be based in the wider Brussels area
