Roles & Responsibilities
The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
We are currently looking for a (Senior) Consultant to strengthen our enthusiastic Public Sector team working for the EU Institutions within KPMG Management Consulting.
In this role, the successful candidate will be closely and actively involved in business development activities that contribute to the long-term and sustainable growth of the EU account. The role includes conducting studies to support policy-making and assisting clients with the implementation of policy initiatives. This may include research, evaluations and impact assessments, stakeholder management and communication, the development of new strategies, providing guidance during transformations, and improving existing business processes.
This position also offers the opportunity to work on similar studies and projects with clients of the Belgian federal and regional governments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Actively contributing to the drafting of proposals in response to open calls for tenders and requests for services under existing framework contracts;
- Conducting quantitative and/or qualitative research, evaluations and impact assessments;
- Analyzing complex datasets;
- Drafting high-quality reports to communicate findings, actionable conclusions and recommendations;
- Assisting in the development of strategies within the public sector;
- Defining and improving business and operational processes and procedures;
- Participating in transformation and policy implementation projects;
- Supporting the further growth and development of the Public Sector practice, particularly the EU account. This includes designing new service offerings, monitoring trends and policies, and engaging in networking activities.

Skills & Qualifications
- Masters’ degree with 2 to 5 years of professional experience in consulting and business development activities for the EU institutions (particularly the European Commission and its agencies);
- Experience conducting studies and projects for the EU Institutions, including data collection and analysis, stakeholder management and communication, facilitation of workshops or webinars, and strong report writing;
- Experience in project management and Better Regulation assignments;
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in English are required, together with strong proficiency in Dutch and/or French.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a change management mindset;
- Experience in the Belgian public sector is considered an asset.
- Confidence in working with AI tools, combined with a critical and responsible mindset when applying AI in daily tasks and team collaboration.
