As a Database Architect at COSMOTE Global Solutions, you will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise database systems that align with business goals and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions to meet organizational needs
- Develop and maintain database architecture documentation, standards, and guidelines
- Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into effective database designs
- Lead initiatives for database optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Evaluate and select appropriate database technologies and platforms including relational and NoSQL databases
- Ensure data security, integrity, and availability across all database environments
- Guide and mentor database administrators and development teams on best practices and architectural standards
- Implement data modeling best practices and ensure alignment with data governance policies
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in database architecture and recommend improvements accordingly
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 12 years of experience in database design, architecture, and administration
- Strong expertise in relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar technologies
- Proficiency in data modeling techniques including ER modeling, normalization, and dimensional modeling
- Hands‑on experience with database performance tuning, scalability, and high availability solutions
- Familiarity with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL
- Good understanding of data security best practices and compliance standards
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex database concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
