Chief Surveyor

We are seeking a Chief Surveyor, who will lead all survey operations on board, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of hydrographic and topographic surveys across offshore and dredging projects worldwide. You will manage the survey team, oversee data quality, and work closely with the vessel's leadership and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and support the onboard survey team.
• Plan and oversee all survey activities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
• Monitor project progress using survey equipment and software, maintaining high operational standards.
• Deliver survey data and reports on time and to the highest quality.
• Communicate effectively with Project Management, Client representatives, the Vessel Master, and crew.
• Collaborate closely with the Captain, Chief Engineer, and OIM to achieve project objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements in survey operations, productivity, and performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Degree or diploma in Hydrographic Surveying, Geophysics, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 10 years of experience in the survey industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of survey methods, equipment, and software.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate survey teams.
• Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work in remote and challenging offshore environments.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, quality-focused mindset.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Willingness to work offshore on a rotational schedule (1:1 for offshore projects or 2:1 for dredging projects).
