Solution Architect Start date: As soon as possible End date: 31/12/2026 Overview This role is responsible for defining, designing, and governing end-to-end solution architectures within a complex insurance IT environment. The Solution Architect ensures that all technical solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, business requirements (functional and non-functional), and strategic IT objectives. The role acts as a key technical authority throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring robust, scalable, and reusable solutions are delivered in collaboration with development teams, enterprise architects, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture Define and maintain end-to-end solution architecture and document it in the Solution Architecture Document (SAD) Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards and target architecture vision Design overall structure and technical blueprint of applications and systems Identify and evaluate technologies in collaboration with enterprise and application architects Ensure final solutions respect approved architecture and design principles Technical Leadership & Governance Take ownership of architectural decisions and ensure they are properly documented Identify and define software engineering tasks for project planning purposes Maximise reuse of existing systems, assets, and frameworks Ensure compliance with development standards, coding guidelines, and methodologies Participate in Architecture Review Boards and obtain validation for proposed designs Stakeholder & Project Support Support Project Managers with technical input, effort estimation, and feasibility analysis Provide clear communication on architectural risks, constraints, and trade-offs Collaborate with testing teams to define infrastructure and technical requirements Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation Team Guidance & Coaching Guide and coach developers, designers, and technical contributors Support resolution of complex technical challenges Promote best practices in software engineering and architecture Profile / Requirements Minimum 7+ years of experience in IT, including at least 5 years in solution design for complex systems Strong expertise in solution architecture principles and enterprise design Solid understanding of ICT systems and integration environments Experience in structured planning, organisation, and technical governance Experience in the insurance sector is a plus Strong ability to analyse requirements and translate them into technical solutions Excellent communication and documentation skills (architecture documents, presentations) Ability to work independently in complex environments Proactive, structured, and quality-oriented mindset Team player able to collaborate across multiple disciplines Skills Solution Architecture (Expert – 7+ years) ICT Systems (Expert – 10 years) Communication (Expert – 7 years) Planning & Organisation (Expert – 7 years) Independent working (Expert – 7 years) Insurance domain knowledge (Medior – 5 years) Location & Conditions
