Looking to start a new challenge as a freelancer? Get in touch now. What you will do
- Own and operate core Windows Server infrastructure, with some exposure to Linux environments.
- Ensure the availability, performance, resilience and stability of critical systems and infrastructure services.
- Manage the full system lifecycle, including upgrades, patching, hardening, replacement and decommissioning.
- Administer and continuously improve Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including Conditional Access, RBAC and identity-related services.
- Manage modern endpoint environments with Microsoft Intune.
- Apply infrastructure security best practices in partnership with cybersecurity specialists, including hardening, monitoring and remediation.
- Provide 3rd-level technical support and resolve complex infrastructure incidents.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Automate repetitive administration and operational processes using PowerShell.
- Contribute to infrastructure, security and transformation projects from design through implementation.
- Maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Act as a technical reference for colleagues and mentor less-experienced engineers. What you bring
- 8+ years of experience in System Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or a comparable senior technical role.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure.
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID and identity/security administration.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Good understanding of infrastructure security, including hardening, vulnerability remediation, monitoring and backup/recovery.
- Experience with virtualization such as VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix.
- Understanding of security frameworks and principles such as CIS and NIST.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and performing root-cause analysis.
- A structured, autonomous and proactive approach, with the ability to remain effective under pressure.
- Experience mentoring colleagues or acting as a technical reference is highly valued.
