For one of our clients, we are currently looking for a Cyber Underwriter to strengthen its growing Corporate Insurance team in Brussels.
Our client is a leading international insurance group with strong expertise in Corporate and Industrial risks. Combining the capabilities of a global organization with an entrepreneurial local approach, the company works with large and complex organizations and is currently investing significantly in the development of its Belgian activities.
With strong growth ambitions for the coming years, the company is expanding its local underwriting capabilities across several strategic insurance lines.
This position represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing Belgian operation, develop your expertise in one of the most rapidly evolving areas of Corporate Insurance and directly contribute to the development of the company's Cyber portfolio in Belgium. RoleAs a Cyber Underwriter, you will contribute to the development and management of a portfolio of Corporate Cyber risks.
You will combine risk assessment, analytical thinking and commercial insight to understand clients' exposures, evaluate new business opportunities and structure appropriate insurance solutions.
Beyond pure underwriting, you will play an important role in developing relationships with brokers and corporate clients. The company is therefore open to candidates with different backgrounds who combine an understanding of business risks with strong commercial capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Underwriting & Risk AssessmentAnalyze Cyber risks for corporate clients by developing a strong understanding of their activities, organization and overall risk exposure.
Assess new business opportunities and determine appropriate underwriting conditions in line with the company's risk appetite.
Structure tailored Cyber insurance solutions balancing client needs, risk selection and portfolio profitability.
Review renewals and existing policies while assessing changes in clients' risk profiles.
Develop your technical expertise within Cyber Insurance and broader Corporate and Specialty risks.
Broker & Client RelationshipsBuild and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers, corporate clients and other market stakeholders.
Act as a trusted partner by combining technical understanding with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
Discuss and negotiate insurance solutions, terms and conditions with brokers.
Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and challenges to provide relevant insurance solutions.
Represent the company during broker meetings, client discussions and market events.
Portfolio & Business DevelopmentContribute actively to the development of the Cyber Insurance portfolio in Belgium.
Identify new business opportunities and participate in the company's broader growth strategy.
Develop your network and market knowledge within the Belgian Corporate Insurance ecosystem.
Combine disciplined risk selection with a commercial mindset to support sustainable and profitable growth.
Contribute to strengthening the company's positioning with brokers and Corporate clients.
Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementCollaborate closely with local and international underwriting specialists and other internal stakeholders.

More than a traditional underwriting career path, our client is looking for someone who combines an understanding of Cyber risks, strong analytical capabilities and commercial potential.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity or another relevant field.
Previous experience in Cyber Insurance, Cybersecurity, Technology Risk, IT Risk, Cyber Compliance or Cyber Governance is highly valued.
Candidates with a Cyber Compliance background, particularly those accustomed to assessing organizations, controls, regulatory requirements and technology-related risks, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Professionals coming from Corporate Banking, SME Banking or B2B commercial roles with strong exposure to corporate clients can also be considered. Ability to understand a company's business model and assess its technology, operational and Cyber risk exposure.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with genuine commercial flair.
Ability to translate complex or technical Cyber topics into clear business and risk considerations.
Comfortable developing relationships with brokers, corporate clients and senior stakeholders.
