About Our Client
Our client is a large Belgian organization operating in a complex and highly regulated environment. The legal team plays a key role in supporting HR-related matters across multiple business entities, providing expert guidance on employment and wellbeing legislation while contributing to strategic decision-making.
Job Description
Well-being & Employment Law Advisory
- Act as the legal expert on workplace well-being and employment law matters.
- Advise on anti-discrimination legislation, ensuring fair and consistent treatment across employee populations.
- Support complex matters relating to medical absences, incapacity to work, occupational accidents, professional illnesses, and compensation mechanisms.
- Provide legal guidance on return-to-work and reintegration processes, one of the team's key areas of focus.
- Draft legal opinions and practical recommendations for HR and business stakeholders.
- Monitor legislative and case law developments and assess their operational impact.
Transversal Projects
- Participate in strategic projects involving HR, legal, employee representatives, and social partners.
- Work closely with specialist legal teams focusing on employment, career management, and well-being matters.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, internal training, and legal documentation.
The Successful Applicant
- Master's degree in Law.
- 2 to 6 years of experience within a legal department, law firm, unions or social secretary.
- Proven exposure to employment law, particularly workplace well-being matters.
- Strong knowledge of anti-discrimination legislation, medical absences, return-to-work processes, and occupational accident matters.
- Operational command of Dutch and French (no need to be fluent)
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
