You will join our client’s application modernization initiative, focused on upgrading and modernizing a portfolio of existing Java applications running on legacy environments. /p /brpAs a bSenior Java Upgrade Migration Engineer /b, your main responsibilities will include: /p /brul /brliAnalyze existing Java applications running on legacy Java versions (starting from Java 7). /li /brliPlan and execute migrations towards modern Java versions (Java 17, 21 and above). /li /brliIdentify and resolve compatibility issues related to frameworks, libraries, and application servers. /li /brliPerform code refactoring and modernization to comply with current Java best practices. /li /brliTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during migration activities. /li /brliConduct impact assessments and define migration strategies for legacy applications. /li /brliCollaborate with development teams, architects, and infrastructure experts throughout the upgrade process. /li /brliSupport testing, validation, and deployment of upgraded applications. /li /brliContribute to the modernization of application hosting environments. /li /brliFor part of the team, support containerization and deployment activities using OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Tomcat /li /br /ul /brh3Your profile /h3 /brul /brliYou have at least 5 years of experience in Java, spring or spring boot /li /brliYou have strong experience in Java development with expertise ranging from bJava 7 to Java 21+ /b. /li /brliYou have proven experience in large-scale bJava Upgrade Migration /b projects. /li /brliYou have expert-level knowledge of Java Core and enterprise application development. /li /brliYou have strong analytical skills with extensive experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. /li /brliYou are able to assess legacy architectures and define modernization roadmaps. /li /brliYou have experience with application servers and middleware technologies. /li /brliYou have hands-on experience with bTomcat. /b /li /brliExperience with bOpenShift, Kubernetes /b and containerized environments is considered a strong asset. /li /brliGood understanding of CI/CD and modern deployment practices. /li /brliStrong communication and collaboration skills. /li /brliProfessional proficiency in bDutch or French /b, combined with good bEnglish /b. /li /br /ul /brh3Working Conditions /h3 /brul /brliPermanent contract with an attractive salary package /li /brliCompany car with fuel card /li /brliGroup insurance healthcare insurance /li /brliPossibility of remote work /li /brli20 legal vacation days + 12 compensatory days /li /br /ul /brh3About ALTEN /h3 /brpbALTEN is a world leader in engineering and technology consulting /b, with over b57 000 employees /b in more than b30 countries /b.
