Consistently ranked Tier 1, our client is a leading international law firm with a strong reputation for excellence across key industries.
Our Client is looking to recruit a Junior Associate to join its Intellectual Property team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop as an IP all-around lawyer, with exposure to both soft IP and hard IP, rather than a role limited to Data or Tech-related matters.
On a more personal note, we have already placed several lawyers within this department, which gives us a very concrete and hands-on understanding of the team’s day-to-day functioning, training approach and culture. This is a practice known for being demanding, but also genuinely supportive and focused on long-term development.
Role
- Assisting on a broad range of IP advisory and contentious matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and designs
- Supporting IP litigation and enforcement proceedings before Belgian and, where relevant, EU courts
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings and client advice
- Assisting with IP portfolio management, licensing and IP-related commercial agreements
- Monitoring developments in Belgian, EU and international IP law
- Supporting senior team members on complex, cross-border IP mattersProfile
- You have 4 to 7 years of experience within IP law.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English; good knowledge of French is an asset
- Strong academic background or prior experience within a high-quality IP practice
- Genuine interest in both soft IP and hard IP, with the ambition to grow into an IP all-around practitioner
- Proactive, motivated and eager to learn
