We design and develop high-performance chips, optical engines, and interconnects for the data centers and high-speed networks of tomorrow. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to help us expand our team and establish robust HR processes and structures that support our growth in the fast-moving photonics and semiconductor industry.

The Role

We are looking for a seasoned HR Consultant or part-time HR professional to join our team on a flexible basis, averaging up to 2–3 days per week.

You will take ownership of key HR activities, from employment contracts and recruitment to internal policies and employee support. This is an opportunity to shape how HR operates within a young, highly technical company and to work closely with both employees and leadership.

Experience in the photonics or semiconductor industry is required. Knowledge of silicon photonics is a strong plus, given the specialized and highly technical nature of the roles you will support.

Key Responsibilities

• Employment Contracts: Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, amendments, and terminations in accordance with Belgian employment legislation.
• Recruitment: Own the end-to-end recruitment process, from job descriptions, sourcing, and screening through interviews, offers, and onboarding, with a particular focus on specialized technical and engineering talent.
• HR Policies & Regulations: Develop, maintain, and update internal HR policies, employee handbooks, workplace regulations, and related documentation as the company grows.
• Employee Support: Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and management on HR-related questions and matters.
• HR Advisory: Advise leadership on the best HR practices, market benchmarks, employment matters, and compliance requirements.
• HR Structure: Help establish scalable HR processes and practices appropriate for a growing deep-tech organization.

About You

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Consultant, or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of Belgian employment law, with specific experience in Flanders.
• Proven experience managing recruitment processes, ideally for technical, engineering, or other highly specialized positions.
• Experience developing, implementing, or updating HR policies and company regulations.
• Professional experience in photonics, semiconductors, fiber optics, silicon photonics, or a closely related deep-tech industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, combined with discretion and sound professional judgment.
• Able to work independently and take ownership in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
