pMediahuis is looking for an experienced bFreelance GitLab Platform Engineer based in Belgium /b to strengthen, secure and further professionalise our critical GitLab platform. /p pWe believe you could be the perfect fit. /p h3Your impact. /h3 pGitLab is a critical platform for our development and infrastructure teams. - this opportunity is even better than you imagined /p h3Your role includes. /h3 ul liFurther strengthening and hardening our bGitLab platform /b, with particular attention to accounts, tokens, credentials, variables and access management. /li liImproving bmonitoring, logging and alerting /b to ensure a stable and reliable platform. /li liReviewing and improving bGitLab CI/CD, runners and the container registry /b. /li liSupporting bGitLab upgrades, lifecycle management and patching /b. /li liAutomating and documenting platform management and configuration. /li liWorking closely with our bCloud, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture and Development teams /b. /li liSharing your expertise with internal engineers, reducing key-person dependency and contributing to the future evolution of the platform, including a potential bSaaS or managed GitLab solution /b. /li liFor this freelance assignment, you are bbased in Belgium and able to work from our Antwerp office two days per week /b. The assignment starts as soon as possible in Q4 2026 and runs at least until the end of 2026, with a possible extension into the first half of 2027. /li /ul h3What makes you a great fit? /h3 pWhat’s on your CV, is important but is by no means the only thing we attach importance to. You have strong hands-on experience with bGitLab Self-Managed, GitLab Premium and GitLab CI/CD /b, combined with solid knowledge of bGitLab security and platform hardening /b. You are comfortable working with bLinux, Kubernetes, monitoring and logging /b, and know how to troubleshoot business-critical platforms. You have experience with automation and bInfrastructure as Code /b, using technologies such as bTerraform, Ansible, Bash or Python /b. Experience with bAWS and GitLab SaaS migrations /b is a plus. You are hands-on, pragmatic and able to work independently, while actively sharing your knowledge with the team. You communicate fluently in bDutch and English. /b /p h3What’s about to become your second home? /h3 pYou’ll join bTPS, the international technology organization of Mediahuis /b. You will work closely with colleagues across Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture and Development and contribute directly to the security, stability and future readiness of a critical platform used by our development and infrastructure teams. /p
