Schelstraete Delacourt is supporting one of its clients in the search for an Operations Manager. The company is a rapidly growing SME based in the Brussels region, providing highly engineered electromechanical solutions to a broad range of customers.

Driven by strong commercial growth, the company is experiencing a significant increase in both production volumes and complexity. As a result, there is a clear need for an Operations Manager who can further professionalize the production plant and prepare the organization for future capacity expansion and scale-up.

The Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for all production-related activities within the company, with a primary focus on manufacturing (and additional responsibility for Supply Chain, HSE and Operational Excellence).

The key priorities of the role will be to:

  • Increase efficiency and quality across production and execution, while creating a scalable manufacturing environment through continuous improvement, standardization and the introduction of modularity within a highly customized, project-driven environment;
  • Strengthen the collaboration between Operations and Engineering, ensuring that technical requirements are effectively translated into production processes and fostering a strong interaction between both functions to improve speed, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Team and organization Development. The Operations Manager will lead a sizeable production team through several direct reports and will focus on developing the team.

We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong Operations leader with the following background:

  • Strong electromechanical knowledge is essential. You must be able to engage with Engineering at a technical level and understand the underlying technical requirements and challenges;
  • Substantial experience as an Operations Manager in a highly technical, industrial manufacturing environment, such as assembly, machine building or a comparable sector;
  • Proven experience in setting up, structuring or optimising cellular manufacturing is a must. Experience with line production is considered an additional asset;
  • Fluency in both French and Dutch;
  • Solid experience with Lean Manufacturing, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, operational KPIs and performance management.
