This position is hybrid, and located in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. /p h3What You Will Do /h3 pThe Manager Regulatory Affairs, Europe will work on all regulatory initiatives of relevance to Albemarle, reporting to the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, Europe and coordinating with other relevant functions across the company. The role will focus on identifying, assessing and helping shape EU regulatory developments that may affect Albemarle’s lithium and bromine businesses, ensuring timely internal alignment and business-relevant guidance. The Manager will work from home at least four days per week and will be part of the External Affairs team based in Belgium. The office location is Louvain-la-Neuve. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liMonitor and assess EU regulatory developments relevant to lithium, bromine and related value chains. /li liTranslate complex regulatory developments into clear business implications for internal stakeholders. /li liWork with the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, Europe to develop the company’s overall strategy on EU regulatory matters for lithium and bromine products. /li liTake the lead on individual regulatory initiatives and projects. Relevant files include, but are not limited to, REACH, CLP, OSH, the Industrial Emissions Directive, the Circular Economy Package, the Water Framework Directive and the ESPR. /li liEngage with regulators, trade associations and other external stakeholders to explain Albemarle’s technical and regulatory positions, in coordination with the External Affairs team. /li liPrepare internal briefings, position papers, consultation responses and advocacy materials. /li /ul h3What You Bring /h3 ul liAt least five years of experience in a relevant field such as environment, sustainability, chemicals or raw materials. /li liPrevious work experience in European institutions, trade associations, corporations or NGOs. /li liRelevant experience in chemicals management, REACH, CLP, eco-design and/or circular economy. /li liMaster’s degree in a relevant field. A scientific background, such as chemistry, chemical engineering or environmental science, is an advantage. /li liThe working language is English. Knowledge of another European language would be an advantage. /li liExperience providing counsel and timely information to business leaders. /li liBackground in the chemicals or raw materials industry, or in another relevant sector. /li liExperience in project management would be an advantage. /li liStrong analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical issues into clear, business-oriented advice. /li /ul h3What
