PURPOSE OF THE JOBTogether with the other member of the team, to analyze the input needs (external or internal) and requirements, and design the solution by re-using existing solutions (contracts context) or by developing a new solution or adapting an existing one (program context)To formalize and maintain the system specifications (operational, functional, and constructional), application rules, and supporting processes descriptions and their associated verification, validation and assessments.
ORGANISATIONOrganisation structureDevelopment Center/Techno Center (DC/TC) (in program context)Regional Centre (RC) (in contract context)Reports directly toRC/DC/TC System/Product Métier ManagerOther reporting toProgram Development Manager (PDM) (in program context)Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) / System Deployment & Integration Manager (SDIM) (in contract context)Direct reportsN/ANetwork & LinksInternalProject Engineering teamProgram Team (Product or System)ExternalExpert and Core Competency NetworksExternal entities involved in the contract/program (under the control of project/program core team)MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESMission and DeliverablesMember of the project/program engineering teamApplies processes, methods and tools as referenced by the project/program plansIn collaboration with the System Architect and under the control of the Program Development Manager/Project Engineering Manager/System Deployment & Integration Manager he contributes to the system/product design (including refinement of HW and SW components identified in the system architecture) and specification according to the development strategy established in the System Engineering Management PlanFor the system design (s)he:Analyzes, clarifies and confirms input requirements and needsPerforms conceptual design by preparing system models, design studies, design rationales, design principles, real time analysis, modelling & mock-ups, etc. for technical de-risking and optimizationSolves InterfacesPartners with and provides technical support to RAM, safety, cybersecurity, sub-system, software, hardware and V&V teams to develop design concepts and definitionsCalls, conducts and participates to technical reviews (design reviews, document reviews) to analyze technical issues, including consultation to end-users, experts and core competency networks according to specific needs and domains competencies relevanceFor the system specification (system formalization) (s)he:Elaborates formal modelling and requirements writing according to design standard and guidelinesFormalizes and maintains the system specification (OCD, RS, AD, ID, PD) according to applicable templates contentPartners with RAM, safety, cybersecurity, sub-system, software, hardware and V&V of the project/program to ensure specifications completeness and acceptanceCoordinates with project/program team members to implement design and work through design revisionsEnsures traceability through-out the formal documentation, up to the input needs (input specifications, CR)Ensures verifications (document reviews, peer reviews) of system specificationsPuts work products under configuration managementOn request, supports the System Application Architect for projects and tenders (evolutions & anomalies analysis, documentation support)Prepares the project/program documents (e.g. training material, user manuals, …) (s)he is in charge ofParticipates to the material selection and procurement activities as required for the system deliverySustains the system according to Change Requests (evolutions and anomalies)Keeps informed of the evolution of technologies through technological watchContributes to continuous improvement (REX: Return of EXperience, process, …)Contributes to workload estimations for the deliverables within scopePromoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
