For one of our clients, a leading financial institution in Belgium, we are currently looking for a experienced Credit Risk to strengthen its team. This position sits at the crossroads of business and technology, where you will translate complex regulatory and business requirements into functional solutions supporting credit risk calculations, lending processes and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile environment while contributing to strategic projects linked to Basel regulations, IFRS 9 and credit risk management.
Your RoleAs a Credit Risk, you act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams. You analyse functional needs, design future-proof solutions and coordinate their implementation while ensuring compliance with internal architecture standards and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with Risk, Finance and Technology teams, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of critical systems supporting the bank's credit risk framework.
RoleBusiness & Functional AnalysisGather, analyse and challenge business requirements related to credit risk management and regulatory reporting. Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and solution designs. Evaluate different solution options by considering functional impact, costs and long-term sustainability. Ensure proposed solutions comply with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements. Project CoordinationCoordinate functional changes from analysis through implementation. Work closely with development teams during the implementation phase. Monitor project progress and ensure successful end-to-end delivery. Act as the functional point of contact between business stakeholders and IT teams. Testing & Quality AssuranceDefine testing strategies and prepare functional test scenarios. Execute functional testing and validate delivered solutions. Ensure system changes meet business expectations and quality standards. Support issue resolution during implementation and production deployment. Risk & Regulatory ProjectsContribute to projects related to credit risk calculation engines, lending processes and regulatory reporting. Support initiatives linked to Basel regulations, IFRS 9 and risk management frameworks. Collaborate with Credit Risk, Finance and Regulatory teams to continuously improve existing processes and systems. ProfileMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst within a complex IT environment. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand both business processes and technical solutions. Good knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel. Experience within the banking sector or financial services is highly appreciated. Knowledge of Credit Risk, Basel, IFRS 9 or regulatory reporting is considered a strong asset. Experience with Python, SAS or Mainframe environments is an advantage. Comfortable working in Agile environments with cross-functional and international teams. Fluent in Dutch and English.
