Role Description The IT Support Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ghent. This role is responsible for providing hands-on technical support for end users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, and escalating complex problems when necessary. The IT Support Engineer will manage user accounts, assist with system administration tasks, and ensure that devices, applications, and peripherals are configured, maintained, and secured according to company standards. Daily activities include responding to help desk tickets, documenting resolutions, supporting deployments and upgrades, and collaborating with other engineering teams to maintain stable and resilient IT infrastructure. The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement efforts, adhering to service level targets, and delivering clear, professional communication to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills, including experience resolving user issues in a structured ticketing environment.
- Candidates should possess solid Information Technology knowledge, covering hardware, operating systems, basic networking, and common enterprise applications.
- Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting abilities, including root-cause analysis and systematic problem-solving for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Candidates should possess System Administration skills, such as user account management, permissions, patching, and basic server or endpoint configuration.
- Relevant qualifications such as a vocational diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field are beneficial.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco) are an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively on-site in a team-based environment are expected.
- Experience in enterprise or multi-site environments and familiarity with ITIL-based processes are beneficial.
