Scope Of The Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects. They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their assigned project to assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality from start to finish

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

• You are the Mercury representative on the assigned work group.
• Fully understand the scope of the Project works as per the Design/IFC specifications and drawings
• Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns with the assigned commercial QS for Technical compliance with design intent specifications
• Review Project schedule and ensure Engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g. Procurement, structural design, tech subs, etc).
• Prepare technical submittal schedule from model and P&ID schedules
• Prepare RFI’s with construction team to ensure all technical queries are answered by the client and the A/E
• Prepare and Submit all technical submittals to the A/E in with appointed manufacturers (by procurement) latest product datasheets
• Manage change control because of DRB releases from a material and technical aspect
• Ensure delivery of the material utilising Engineering Materials Report (EMR or ZMER) by producing material take offs identifying the lead in periods with procurement.
• Management of Material and scope drawings with fabshops and ensuring adequate information flow to ensure fabrication progress is in line with the Project Schedule and Weekly Meeting logged.
• Request and supply free issue equipment details to BIM team to ensure supplied items are captured in the BIM detailing scope of work
• Review free issued material including instrumentation associated with package to ensure all connections details are captured and issued to the BIM team
• Calldown of free issued material including instrumentation & equipment (ie pumps, fans & skids)
• Evaluate and promote the use of new lean engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of the project.
• Preparation and agreeing project completion criteria and close out documents.
• Create Work packs with work pack team with assistance from package lead
• Track and report fabrication progress by each offsite fabrication facilities to ensure progress, liaise this information with the project Planner
• For equipment, collate all vendor information for equipment (vendor P&ID, bolt specs & assembly drawings for services and skid)
• Complete engineering review of BIM content and issue comments back to BIM team for remedial work
• Update IWP tracking system with Bulk Take off, BIM reconciliation & Material readiness weekly progress updates
• Mark up redline P&ID’s for handover and update project tracker for status
• Identify boundary & ensure boundary is documented of each system in associate with the milestone tags.
• ensure all technical submittals and RFI’s are closed out on Eida including secondary steel supports
• Review all packages released by the client and create the necessary IWP’s to ensure scope is added to the Mercury scope process.
• Ensure all ope requests are uploaded on the project ope request system
• Create isometric load plans, module delivery & equipment delivery requests for the construction team in line with latest schedule
• Developing Junior/Graduate engineers’ knowledge of company/project process.
• Manage Mercury Peoples Platform (MPP) elements for setting goals, R&R and development
• Attend or delegate meeting attendance i.e., Client meeting, Internal meeting, sub-contractor meetings and Construction meetings/whiteboards
