In this role, you will work closely with customers and internal teams to turn packaging challenges into robust, value‑adding solutions. You will be a trusted technical partner, supporting existing products and enabling new developments that drive profitable growth.
What you will doAs an Application Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of customers, sales, and R&D, translating application needs into the right packaging solutions.
Your
key responsibilities
include:Act as a technical expert for packaging applications at customers manufacturing in Healthcare (Medical) markets across EMEASupport customers with standard product selection, application optimization, and effective standard product commercializationWork closely with Sales and Field Technical Service to solve complex application issuesLead and support standard product qualifications, sample testing, and scale‑ups at customer sitesConduct packaging line and performance evaluations to demonstrate quantifiable customer valueCapture customer and market insights to identify portfolio gaps, innovation opportunities, and competitive trendsShare knowledge internally and contribute to building strong application capabilities across the organizationWhat makes this role excitingHigh level of customer interaction and real‑world problem solvingStrong influence on product success and customer satisfactionExposure to leading packaging technologies, market trends, and sustainability challengesDaily collaboration with Sales, R&D, Operations, Marketing, and global teamsWhat you bring5+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or similar roles within flexible packagingHealthcare market knowledge and exposure (desired)Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Applied) Sciences (Chemistry, Polymers, Material Sciences) or equivalent by experienceStrong understanding of packaging materials and customer manufacturing processesProven ability to assess customer needs and translate them into practical, scalable solutionsSolid project management, problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skillsComfortable working independently in a cross‑functional, international environmentWillingness to travel more than 50%Fluent English is requiredWho you areCustomer‑focused and solution‑orientedCurious, proactive, and hands‑onCredible technical partner who builds trust quicklyOrganized, pragmatic, and able to manage multiple priorities
